In March I was sick with bronchitis and didn’t realize how sick I was. I thought it was allergies for the first time in my life, or perhaps a bad cold. I cancelled several upcoming appointments. But I didn’t improve.
Finally, a nurse friend suggested I call the 24-hour nurse line at Kaiser, something I had never done before. After a few minutes, the nurse said, “Let’s make an appointment with your doctor.” She made the appointment in minutes electronically. See a doctor? That thought never occurred to me. But within days, the antibiotics the doctor prescribed kicked in. And April began the journey to wellness.
As has happened before, I had to realize my independence and pride had gotten in the way. I needed help. When I finally asked friends to bring food, my front porch was loaded with homemade soups imported from Lake Oswego, frozen foods like steel cut oatmeal from Trader Joe’s, tulips from Freddie’s, and much more.
It’s humbling to realize I could have asked for help weeks before and perhaps saved myself days of sickness and low energy. As Meryl Streep said, “Aging is not for the weak.” She is right, but it is also a time to tell the truth. When you’re sick, ask for help.
I’m well again. Now I’m here to help you de-stress and feel better. These are tough times for us all. Reflexology is a gentle way to revive your entire system. After a session, you tell me you feel better so I’m grateful every time you come through my door.
You give my life meaning. I promise to take better of myself so I'm here when you want to come. Thank you for keeping me going!
For your convenience, my reflexology hours are still Monday through Saturday, with appointments at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm. If these hours don’t quite work for you, let me know and we’ll make a special time for you.
