Got Resilience?

October 9, 2018

It’s that ability to move back to our better selves. I just finished reading The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels by Jon Meacham. Apparently, I’m not the only one reviewing these last 300 years of America’s history. At one point, I was 450th on the list to borrow this library book by the Pulitzer-Prize-winning historian-biographer. Believe me, this is history worth reading.

Meacham’s book examines the challenges we went through as a county to become the world’s first democracy, and it’s never been perfect or easy or without critical times. It was good to put things into perspective. Our country, based on democracy, is still an experiment. So here we are. And here we go again.

What can we do? The word “resilient” comes to mind.  Like my sweet air plant.  Who somehow sustains herself without dirt or water. She just grows in the light. That’s a wonder to me. You, dear clients, are also a wonder to me, and when you call or email and book a session, I feel blessed. Today I share a good friend’s wisdom: Breathe, breathe… Take a walk outside, drink extra water to flush the stress toxins out of your system, get more sleep than usual.Think of those you love and care about, call someone, laugh when you can and focus on the positives in your life…remember to vote.

And I like to say, come for reflexology soon.
